Our Supplier Diversity Program
At Paul, Weiss, our commitment to supplier diversity contributes to positive economic impact in local communities and strengthens business relationships throughout the supply chain. Our supplier diversity program is inclusive of people of color, women, the economically disadvantaged, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals and persons with disabilities. We consider quality, supplier diversity and cost competitiveness in our supplier selection process.
Paul, Weiss’s supplier diversity program ensures that the firm proactively sources goods, services and other supplies from businesses that are 51% owned, controlled and operated by a diverse group. The program represents our commitment to creating positive socio-economic impact in the communities where we live and work. Each year, we celebrate and work to expand our supplier diversity network as part of our firm’s broader commitment to inclusion.
We select our suppliers by weighing factors such as diversity, cost competitiveness and quality. We are also committed to working with suppliers that pursue similar diversity, equity and inclusion goals.

Our Certification Recommendations & Requirements
To support our supplier diversity program and goals, we maintain a database of hundreds of diverse suppliers and consistently add more to our portfolio each year.
We review businesses that meet the nationally recognized certification standards of at least 51% ownership, management and control by a diverse group. Although we have worked with many registered diverse suppliers, it is not a requirement to do business with Paul, Weiss.
Paul, Weiss strongly encourages diverse businesses to pursue certification through one or more certifying agencies. Certification gives Paul, Weiss the assurance that businesses claiming a diverse status meet the business ownership and management thresholds. We recommend being certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council or the National Minority Supplier Development Council, or one of the other certification agencies below.
As part of the firm’s pro bono program, our team may be able to help suppliers with the certification process.
Certification Agencies We Recommend
- Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
- National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)
- US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC)
- National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)

- National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC)
- National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA)
