Working Parent and Family Supports
Paul, Weiss recognizes the challenge of being a caregiver and provides comprehensive benefits and policies to support our lawyers who have caregiving responsibilities including:
- Family formation benefits that include financial and other support for adoption and surrogacy and advanced reproductive technology and cryopreservation.
- Working Parent related benefits include 12 weeks of paid parental leave, comprehensive infant transition support, multiple options for backup emergency childcare and access to additional services to help our attorneys manage work and life. To enhance support for the transition to parenthood, we have a liaison to help parents navigate benefits and firm resources.
- Alternative Work Schedule Program: Reduced hours work arrangements are available to all attorneys without a tenure requirement and can be requested for any reason. Several associates have been promoted to partner while in the Program.
- Work Life Coach: The firm engages a leading specialty consulting firm that provides coaching to working parents and organizations that employ them. Our on-retainer consultant is available to couples or individuals to discuss their needs and concerns, including how to support their school age children.
Family Network
|
At Paul Weiss, we recognize that family and work both require time and attention. Juggling those needs is hard, and we have come to depend on our friends and colleagues around the firm for their invaluable support when needed. The mission of the Family Network is to bring the firm’s formal resources to bear to bolster that informal support system, and we are proud to be part of that effort. Family Network leaders Michael Vogel, Partner, Corporate Department; Frances Mi, Partner, Corporate Department
The Family Network provides support to working parents and those with adult and other caregiving responsibilities by fostering community, increasing awareness of available benefits, programs and policies and sharing tips and strategies for managing multiple responsibilities.
