March 13, 2024

Cybersecurity & Data Protection Co-Chair John Carlin was the featured guest on the March 13 episode of the Risky Business podcast. In the episode, “Midnight Blizzard’s Microsoft Hack Isn’t Over,” John discusses Paul, Weiss’s recent amicus brief on behalf of former senior government officials in the SEC’s landmark enforcement action against software company SolarWinds and its Chief Information Security Officer Timothy Brown, noting that such enforcement actions could have a chilling effect on voluntary information sharing between the public and private sectors, which is a key line of defense against cyber threats to national security. John also comments on new cybersecurity risk management rules recently adopted by the SEC, including requirements for public companies to disclose material cybersecurity incidents.
