Help Illinois Families: Financial Assistance for Essential Services

The state of Illinois has announced $275 million in emergency relief for households impacted by COVID-19. Eligible Illinois residents and families can apply to receive assistance with food, rent, utilities, temporary shelter, medicine, and other essential household services, as well as providing employment training and placement. New eligibility thresholds are expanding funds available under the Community Services Block Grant program to more individuals and families who have been affected by COVID-19, but the program will still be available to current qualifying low-income households, regardless of how COVID-19 has affected them.
