Litigation partner Loretta Lynch is among 12 leading lawyers featured in a Law360 article highlighting how their diverse backgrounds have contributed to their success. In the article, “12 Attorneys On How Diversity Gives Them The Edge,” Loretta reflects on one experience she had as former U.S. Attorney General after the Department of Justice sued North Carolina in 2016 over a controversial bill forcing individuals to use bathrooms corresponding to their birth gender. When she encountered protests by African-American ministers who argued that LGBTQ rights insulted the civil rights movement, Loretta held firm to her position on LGBTQ equality, remembering her father, who taught her that “all people are equal, and those who have been discriminated against must be sensitive to discrimination against others.”
