Andrew Rosenberg Named "Dealmaker of the Year" by The American Lawyer
Bankruptcy partner Andrew Rosenberg was named to The American Lawyer's list of 2010 "Dealmakers of the Year," which appears in the April 2010 issue, for his role in the bankruptcy of CIT Group Inc. In the largest pre-packaged bankruptcy solicitation ever, CIT Group emerged from bankruptcy protection with one-third of its $33 billion in unsecured debt slashed and maturities extended. Andrew led the Paul, Weiss team in speaking to bondholders one-on-one to collect viewpoints and devise a common strategy, gathering consensus from nearly 90 percent of voting debt holders. Andrew is one of four Paul, Weiss lawyers in seven years to receive this recognition. Past honorees include Paul Ginsberg for his role in Triarc Companies Inc.'s acquisition of Wendy's International, Jordan Yarett for his role in the securitization of Dunkin' Donuts, and Bob Schumer for his role in Time Warner Inc.'s acquisition of Adelphia Communications.
