The Wall Street Journal spotlighted Paul, Weiss in an article highlighting efforts by some large law firms to build or expand specialized civil rights and racial equity audits practices. The practices, the article notes, are designed to help top U.S. companies examine their record on racial equity in response to increasing pressure from shareholders, employees and other stakeholders.
“The business case for diversity is clear, but it’s still an elusive concept and can be difficult for companies to manage,” litigation partner Loretta Lynch tells the Journal. The article also notes the firm’s work leading a review of whether Amazon’s employment practices have disparate racial impacts on its hourly workforce. The practice was formalized in July.
