Description of Program and Relief

Unemployment Insurance Benefits

Unemployed workers affected by COVID-19 may be eligible for benefits under already-existing Wisconsin unemployment insurance, which provides temporary income for workers who are unemployed, partially unemployed (i.e. weekly earnings are reduced) or expected to be laid off within the next 13 weeks and would like to start benefit year early. As a result of the governor’s emergency order, claimants do not need to do a work search during the governor’s declared emergency.
