Description of Program and Relief
Utah Pandemic Unemployment Assistance
The Department of Workforce Services is offering a new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program for individuals who have lost income due to COVID-19 and who do not qualify for traditional unemployment insurance.

Effective immediately.
Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
Individuals who have lost income due to COVID-19 and (i) are self-employed or working in the gig economy; (ii) lack sufficient work history to qualify for traditional unemployment benefits; (iii) are employed by an organization exempt from unemployment taxes, such as religious institutions; or (iv) have been diagnosed, or have a member of their household that, has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Individuals already receiving unemployment insurance benefits are not eligible for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.
