Description of Program and Relief

Unemployment Insurance Benefits

Unemployed workers affected by COVID-19 may be eligible for benefits under already-existing Oklahoma unemployment insurance, which provides temporary income for workers who have experienced a loss of work due to no fault of their own when suitable work is not available. There is no specific guidance as to whether those who miss work as a result of COVID-19 are eligible. The work search requirement and one-week waiting period before unemployment benefits can be paid have been waived due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
