Description of Program and Relief
Free Breakfast and Lunch for Students
Several school districts throughout the state of Iowa are providing free breakfast and lunch for students on weekdays, including but not limited to the Iowa City Community School District, the Des Moines Public Schools, and the Ames Community School District. Iowa schools that have closed because of COVID-19 may continue serving meals to students in non-group settings by activating their summer meal programs. Schools must individually apply to participate in the program.
