Description of Program and Relief

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

Under TEFAP, commodity foods are provided to local agencies that distribute the food to soup kitchens and food pantries that directly serve the public. Householders are eligible to receive TEFAP food products if total income is within federal guidelines of 185% of the poverty level. While no specific guidance has been provided for those affected by COVID-19, individuals and families adversely impacted by COVID-19 should be eligible if they meet general eligibility requirements.
