Residential Emergency Rental Assistance

Description of Program and Relief

The Emergency Rental Assistance, or ERA program, provides grants of $5,000 for residential rental assistance. If an application is approved, the grant will be sent directly to the applicant’s landlord to be applied against their rent.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Information on eligibility requirements can be found here. To be eligible, an applicant must have an unpaid rent balance that began sometime after March 1, 2020, and they or an adult member of their household must have had a loss of income due to COVID-19. The applicant’s household income before March 1, 2020, must also be less than a certain threshold (which varies by area). Only one application per household is permitted.
