Executive Order No. 2020-08 (COVID-19 Executive Order No. 6: Suspension of Expiration for Driver’s License & Vehicle Registrations
Description of Program and Relief
In light of COVID-19, the Illinois Governor has suspended the expiration of vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses, permits, and parking decals, and temporary and standard identification cards.

Effective immediately, through thirty days after the termination of the Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation
Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
Applies only to registrations, licenses, permits, decals, and identification cards issued by the Illinois Secretary of State. Does not apply to any permits or decals issued by a local government.
