Description of Program and Relief
Moratorium on Evictions
Effective March 17, 2020, all evictions currently ordered and scheduled from March 17, 2020 through April 16, 2020 will be rescheduled for a date no earlier than May 1, 2020, with the following exceptions: (1) forthwith summons applications in landlord-tenant matters involving essential services and/or harm to person or property will be accepted and ruled upon and (2) case-by-case exceptions to these guidelines may be ordered at the discretion of the Delaware Justice of the Peace Court. This moratorium does not relieve a tenant of its obligations to pay rent or otherwise comply with the terms of its lease.
