Description of Program and Relief
Waiver of Eligibility Re-Determinations for Medi-Cal; CalFresh; CalWORKs; Cash Assistance for Immigrants; In-Home Supportive Service
On March 18, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-29-20. The order temporarily suspends the application of any state law that would require the re-determination of eligibility for benefits for individuals currently receiving services from Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs, the Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants, the California Food Assistance Program, or In-Home Supportive Services. Those who are currently subject to re-determination of eligibility for benefits through these programs may continue receiving such services until June 15, 2020 without going through the re-determination process.
Additionally, any aid or services received through CalWORKs from March 17, 2020 through June 17, 2020 will not be counted against the 48-month time limit for receiving certain benefits.
