Description of Program and Relief
Telemedicine is a program under Medicare that allows patients to communicate with doctors and counselors about certain issues using the internet or telephone. Effective March 3, 2020, the Arkansas state government issued an executive order suspending the provisions of the Telemedicine Act that require an in-person encounter or face-to-face examination using real time audio and visual means to establish a professional relationship.
