Daniel Meade is a counsel in the firm’s Corporate Department and a member of the Financial Services Group. His practice focuses on transactional bank regulatory issues, including the Dodd‐Frank Act and all Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Reserve Board regulations and the Volcker rule, as well as bank powers, Basel capital adequacy rules, anti-money laundering compliance, sanctions and Bank Holding Company Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Federal Deposit Insurance Act and National Bank Act issues. Dan also regularly advises on bank M&A and affiliate transactions.

Prior to joining Paul, Weiss, Dan was a partner at another global law firm. Dan previously was also a managing counsel at Wells Fargo and held various roles in government, including on the House Financial Services Committee staff and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Legal Division. He is currently a member of the Board of Advisors of the UNC School of Law Center for Banking and Finance and the Executive Council of the Federal Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee.

Dan has been recognized by a number of industry awards and publications. Chambers USA recognizes him as a top lawyer for financial services regulation, with clients noting that he “is very practical. He is also super technically competent in this complicated area.” Dan is also recognized for his work by The Legal 500 and IFLR1000 in financial services regulation.
