Mark Laramie serves as practice management attorney for antitrust. His practice includes antitrust compliance counseling, antitrust litigation and merger clearance. A significant part of his practice involves counseling on legal and policy developments in the antitrust field. He also directs the implementation and maintenance of practice group knowledge resources.

EXPERIENCE

Mark represents clients in major antitrust litigation—including major multi-defendant direct, opt-out and class actions—as well as U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission merger investigations, and federal and state civil non-merger investigations. He has been involved in formulating initial strategy, supervising discovery, preparing witnesses for and defending depositions and investigational hearings, drafting motions, preparing for trial and supporting settlement negotiations. Mark also advises clients on designing and implementing effective antitrust compliance programs, provides training for businesspeople and in-house lawyers and advises businesses on antitrust risk.

Mark is a regular contributor to antitrust publications, including The Public Competition Enforcement Review, and frequently participates in designing and conducting compliance and continuing legal education programs on antitrust topics. His article “DOJ Resolves Criminal Price Fixing Charges With Deferred Prosecution Agreements Containing Novel Divestiture Remedies” was nominated for a Concurrences Antitrust Writing Award in 2024. Mark has also been involved in representing clients in several bankruptcy matters and conducted investigations related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

In law school, Mark was a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee, and symposium editor and articles editor of the Tulane Law Review.
