Mordie Rochlin Featured in The American Lawyer

Of counsel Mordie Rochlin was profiled in a story in The American Lawyer. The article noted that Mordie, a trusts and estates lawyer who turned 107 on December 5, has been a part of the firm for 83 years, and is the only person alive today who knew all five name partners. At a recent event presenting him with a special commendation, the story noted, Mordie recalled that, after the death in 1951 of Louis Weiss, the firm’s biggest rainmaker, the partnership convened to decide whether the firm could keep going. But former U.S. District Judge Simon Rifkind, who had joined the firm a year earlier, ultimately convinced his partners that the firm could survive. “It was a tremendous event in my life and the life of the firm,” Rochlin said.
