Scott Barshay Quoted in Financial Times on Decline in U.S. Lawsuits Contesting Takeovers
August 2, 2016
Corporate partner Scott Barshay was quoted in a Financial Times article titled "US Lawsuits Contesting Takeovers Plunge After Trulia Ruling." The article, published on August 2, addresses the sharp decline in shareholder litigation challenging mergers and acquisitions since the Delaware Court of Chancery rejected a proposed settlement in a lawsuit over Zillow's acquisition of rival real estate website Trulia. "The days of frivolous lawsuits on every deal are over in Delaware," said Scott, adding, "Going forward lawsuits are more likely to be brought only where there's a serious issue."
