WestJet Airlines Closes $400 Million Bond Offering

Paul, Weiss advised new client WestJet Airlines Ltd., a leading high value Canadian airline, in connection with its issuance of $400 million aggregate principal amount of 3.50% senior notes due 2021. The transaction was WestJet's inaugural U.S. dollar bond offering. WestJet plans to apply the net proceeds from the sale of the notes for general corporate purposes, which include the purchase of aircraft.
Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. acted as joint bookrunning managers for the offering.
