Paul, Weiss Joins Forces With Leading NYC Companies to Fight Homelessness

Paul, Weiss joined the Homeless Assistance Fund, a new public-private partnership between New York City and 61 New York-based businesses that have pledged $8 million towards tackling the city’s homelessness crisis. In collaboration with Breaking Ground, a homeless outreach and housing nonprofit, the Homeless Assistance Fund will bolster the city’s existing efforts to assist people living on the streets or experiencing mental illness.
The initiative, announced on July 26, will fund additional outreach teams and allow them to serve privately owned spaces not covered by existing city contracts, such as ATM vestibules, retail spaces and plazas. The program will initially target major transit hubs and dense office districts, and Breaking Ground will also offer training to commuters in these areas to build understanding around homelessness and mental illness and equip them with practical ways to help.
