Steve Banks Discusses the Paul, Weiss Pro Bono Program at National Legal Aid & Defender Association’s Annual Conference

On November 15, special counsel Steve Banks spoke about the Paul, Weiss pro bono program at the National Legal Aid & Defender Association’s (NLADA) annual conference in Atlanta. Steve spoke about the firm’s longstanding commitment to pro bono service and the extraordinary pro bono contributions that litigation and transactional partners, counsel and associates are making to help bridge the gap between legal needs and available free legal help. In particular, he spoke about the firm’s commitment to transactional pro bono to strengthen nonprofits, support startup small businesses and help individuals and families gain access to economic opportunities; the firm’s law reform litigation and legal representation for individuals in need; and the launch of the Paul, Weiss Center to Combat Hate.

Earlier this year, NLADA honored Paul, Weiss with a Beacon of Justice award recognizing the firm’s comprehensive pro bono initiatives to address the interconnected crises of homelessness and migration in New York City. NLADA is America’s oldest and largest national nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel.
