VOLS Wins Unemployment Insurance Benefits for Pro Bono Client

Paul, Weiss, through the Volunteers of Legal Service Unemployment Insurance Project, obtained unemployment insurance benefits for a client who was discharged after leaving work to go to the emergency room because of stress from learning that a person who had sexually harassed her, about whom she had complained to her employer numerous times, had entered her office building. Paul, Weiss, after representing our client at her initial hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), submitted a brief to the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board. The Appeal Board overruled the ALJ's decision on every ground and held that our client was entitled to her full unemployment insurance benefits.
