Paul, Weiss recently obtained a $195,500 settlement for a pretrial detainee who alleged that as a result of the city's and multiple correction officers' deliberate indifference to his safety, he was attacked by a gang at the George R. Vierno Center on Rikers Island and later attacked by a group of inmates at the Manhattan Detention Complex. The case was scheduled to be tried in the Southern District of New York.
The settlement was negotiated by litigation associates Alexander Elson, Christopher Terranova and Anthony Mozzi. The Paul, Weiss team included litigation associates BJ Jensen and Matthew Zorn. The team was supervised by litigation partner James Brochin.
