Paul, Weiss Serves as Pro Bono Counsel to the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund

As part of the firm’s pro bono efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Paul, Weiss lawyers played an integral role in the work of the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF) over the past ten months. Founded weeks into the pandemic as a division of the Community Foundation of New Jersey, the NJPRF is chaired by New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy and comprised of business and community leaders, making up one of the most impactful pandemic relief organizations in the country. Over two dozen board members and countless donors across New Jersey have raised over $66 million in emergency pandemic relief funds. Through targeted grants and programs, those funds have been made available to those suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a particular emphasis on socioeconomically disadvantaged populations and other communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Paul, Weiss lawyers advised NJPRF on its largest disbursements, ultimately drafting and negotiating grant agreements totaling more than $20 million and benefitting over 47 different community organizations and initiatives across New Jersey. Paul, Weiss also assisted NJPRF with its organizational documents and policies, and provided oversight, compliance and risk management advice with regard to several other discrete issues.
