Paul, Weiss Provides Immigration Assistance to Help Put Recent Migrants on Pathway to Lawful Employment

More than 60 Paul, Weiss lawyers, summer associates and paralegals kicked off a major New York City initiative to assist thousands of recently arrived migrants in applying for immigration relief that will get them on the path to obtaining lawful employment authorization.
The Mayor’s Office asked Paul, Weiss to lead the first three days of this initiative (June 26-28) and two additional days in July (July 13-14) because of our capacity to help the city successfully undertake an effort of this magnitude and impact. Following Paul, Weiss’s lead, other major law firms and stakeholders have joined the effort, which aims to screen over 3,000 migrants for immigration relief this summer.
Meanwhile, Paul, Weiss volunteers continue to participate in similar efforts led by Catholic Charities of New York and will staff two additional clinic days to screen migrants seeking immigration assistance through that organization, which will enable them to obtain work authorization.
