Paul, Weiss, in partnership with the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP), successfully represented a Marine Corps veteran in his application for a military discharge upgrade to full Honorable status. Our client suffered a debilitating injury while in service, which necessitated several painful operations and skin grafts. After being placed on limited duty, his commanding officers verbally mistreated him and disciplined him for minor alleged misconduct. Despite being diagnosed with an adjustment disorder and exhibiting symptoms of PTSD, our client was discharged under a “General” discharge status. He was later diagnosed with PTSD related to his in-service injury and negative treatment by his command, and he pursued a discharge upgrade to restore honor to his family. Paul, Weiss represented the veteran in front of the Board for Correction of Naval Records, where the team successfully obtained an Honorable discharge for him.
The Paul, Weiss team was led by litigation associate Tanya Manno and included litigation counsel Peter Jaffe and corporate associate Joseph Boris.
