Paul, Weiss and Robin Hood Foundation Partner for Third Annual Legal Health Check-Up Initiative Supporting NYC Nonprofits

Paul, Weiss launched the third annual Legal Health Check-Up with the Robin Hood Foundation, New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization supporting low-income families by fueling the most impactful nonprofits across all five boroughs. The initiative provides legal guidance to nonprofits on best practices with respect to corporate structuring, contract and core organizational documents, and tax, employment and data privacy considerations, allowing the organizations to focus on their missions with solid legal support.

Over 30 transactional attorneys from Paul, Weiss’s corporate, tax, executive compensation, real estate and data privacy groups are joining this year’s effort. The initiative will assist seven organizations that are members of Robin Hood’s Power Fund. The nonprofits joining this initiative focus on some of the most pressing issues currently impacting New York City, from support for formerly incarcerated people to immigration, education and economic mobility.

The initiative is supervised by corporate partner Ray Russo and includes corporate partners Brad Finkelstein, Chris Cummings, David Tarr and Tim Cruickshank, and associates Ashlyne Polynice, Avery Benesch, Connor Hudson, Jackson Xu, Jamal Bailey, Jimmy Zhou, Jonathan Giron, Matt Battaglia, Matt Porcelli, Salem Aboghodieh, Spencer Rosen, Tian Yang and Yixin Yan; executive compensation partner Ron Aizen and associates Claire Dobbs, Jerald Kagele, John Clementi, Makesi Buddy, Mo Kahn, Ryan Nichols and Will McNally; litigation counsel Audrey Paquet and Aubrey Smith, and associate Cole Rabinowitz; tax counsel Tina Cerrito and associate Janice Fung; and real estate associate Natalie Punzak. The initiative is coordinated by pro bono counsel Emily Donohoe.
