- November 1, 2021
On October 21, Paul, Weiss partnered with New York Lawyers for the Public Interest to conduct a data privacy and cybersecurity training for representatives of nonprofits. Nonprofit participants included Bronx Council for Environmental Quality, Kaufman Music Center, American Red Cross in Greater NY, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC, TheaterWorksUSA, Mercy Center Inc., Westchester Community College and Caribbean American Center of New York, Inc.
The training, conducted by litigation associates Cole Rabinowitz and Emily Glavin, covered major privacy laws and regulations that apply to nonprofits, cybersecurity best practices, and issues around data breaches and cyber-attacks. We advised the nonprofits on how to avoid data breaches and other similar incidents, and which steps to take to mitigate those incidents should they occur.
The Paul, Weiss team also included litigation counsel Steven Herzog, who supervised the training.
