Paul, Weiss hosted a webinar for Black business owners in collaboration with Black Connect, the only national membership nonprofit organization dedicated solely to eliminating America’s racial wealth gap by increasing the number and success rate of Black-owned businesses. The webinar was part of Black Connect’s Small Business Legal Services Program. Paul, Weiss and other law firms are providing free legal training and workshops to educate business owners on the most important issues that affect underserved and at-risk businesses.
The presentation, “Real Estate 101: Commercial Leasing and Operations Basics,” covered topics such as practical tips for negotiating a commercial lease, the most important clauses to focus on for small business owners within a lease, and how COVID-19 closures have affected small businesses and their commercial leases.
The training was led by real estate counsel Barry Langman, and the webinar was coordinated by pro bono attorney Emily Donohoe.
