Paul, Weiss was awarded Make the Road New York’s “With the Community” award at its annual Dignity, Community, and Power Awards. The firm was recognized for its involvement in a number of engagements, including our work on Make the Road’s “ICE Out” campaign, which aims to inform landlords and commercial licensees of their rights with respect to warrantless searches by Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the firm’s successful appeal of a denial of guardianship based on the parent’s immigration status; Paul, Weiss’s defense of Make the Road in a suit brought by a landlord attempting to quash tenant organizing efforts at a Section 8 housing complex in Staten Island; and our contribution to a citywide initiative to expand voting rights. The event took place on November 14 in New York City.
