Lawyers Alliance for New York has honored corporate associate David Huang for his work with Exponents, a community-based group dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals affected by drug addiction, incarceration and HIV/AIDS. David was honored at the organization's Cornerstone Awards event.
With the assistance of corporate partner Tarun Stewart, corporate associate Prem Amarnani and tax associate Lindsay Kurasz, David assisted Exponents in developing the legal structure and corporate documents necessary to form the Center. The team provided guidance on how to structure the relationship between Exponents and the Center in a manner that would not jeopardize the nonprofit's tax-exempt status. They also provided tax and corporate law advice during the initial phases of the Center's operation.
