The UK merger regime is changing. The Digital Markets Competition and Consumers Act is expected to come into force in fall 2024 and will usher in significant changes to the UK merger control rules: enabling the Competition and Markets Authority to review an even wider range of deals and for the first time, requiring mandatory reporting for certain big tech deals (along with a standstill period).
