Aidan Synnott Quoted in Law360 Article on Antitrust Litigation Involving Foreign Sovereign Compulsion
July 9, 2015
Litigation partner Aidan Synnott was quoted in a Law360 article, titled "Antitrust Cases to Watch in the Second Half of 2015," on the issue of Chinese vitamin C companies looking to overturn a $153 million price-fixing verdict that hinges on the question of whether the Chinese government forced the companies to set up and export cartel. A defense strategy known as foreign sovereign compulsion is at the core of the suit. "It's an interesting question on just how broad the reach is here" Aidan commented. "China is a managed economy, there's a lot of government direction and I think we're definitely going to see more cases involving China."
