Description of Program and Relief

Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for qualifying women, infants and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk. This program provides nutritious supplemental goods, health and nutrition screening and education, breastfeeding support, and healthcare referrals. Although no specific guidance has issued with respect to COVID-19, affected families may qualify if they meet eligibility requirements (below).

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Women may qualify for WIC if they live in Wyoming and are either pregnant or have been pregnant in the last six months, or are breastfeeding a baby. Infants and children (including foster children) qualify if they are below 5 years old.

In addition, there are certain income guidelines in place. Women and children enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP or TANF automatically meet income guidelines. Income guidelines are included HERE.

If women and children meet the above criteria, they must also go into WIC to complete a health screening.

  • Application: Applicants may call their local WIC office (list available HERE) or fill out an online appointment request HERE to make an appoint. Applicants must physically appear at the time of certification appointment, bring along identification, proof of address and proof of income. Acceptable forms of identification, proof of address and proof of income are located HERE.
