Description of Program and Relief

Basic Food Program

Washington State’s Basic Food Program, which may also be referred to as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (“SNAP”), helps people with low incomes make ends meet by providing monthly benefits to buy food.

To be eligible for Basic Food, Washington State residents must meet the Federal Program Requirements and Citizenship or Alien Status Requirements.
