Description of Program and Relief
COVIDWISE Exposure Notification App
COVIDWISE is an app that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to alerts users if they have been in close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19. This free smartphone app, which was created by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) in partnership with Spring ML, uses an exposure notifications system (ENS) application programming interface (API) jointly created by Apple and Google. The app is available to all Virginians on Google Play and in the App Store. No location data or personal information is ever collected, stored, tracked, or transmitted to VDH as part of the app.
