Description of Program and Relief
Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer
Families with children who received free or reduced meals on March 16, 2020, or who attended a school that has a majority of children eligible for these meals, are eligible in up to $308 per child in Pandemic-Electronic Benefit (P-EBT) to cover the cost of what would have been school meals from March 16 through May 29, 2020.
Participating in the P-EBT program will not be counted as a public charge and it will not impact your or your child(ren)’s immigration status. It will not impact your child(ren)’s summer meal program or any future free or reduced-price meal eligibility.
Families with children receiving SNAP benefits on March 16, 2020 will automatically receive P-EBT in the beginning of August loaded directly onto the same ET card the household uses to make SNAP purchase.
Families with children who are not currently receiving SNAP benefits but were receiving free or reduced school meals on March 16, 2020, or who attend a school that has a majority of children eligible for these meals can apply for P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits will be available for non-SNAP households before September 30, 2020.
