Description of Program and Relief

Suspension of Expiration Date of Certain Marriage Licenses

In light of COVID-19, the Governor of Tennessee passed an executive order suspending the expiration of marriage licenses that would otherwise expire between March 12, 2020 and May 31, 2020 until June 30, 2020. Normally, a marriage license expires within 30 days of obtaining the license if no ceremony is held.
