Description of Program and Relief
Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
South Dakota’s existing FMLA program provides state employees leave to take care of oneself or a loved one because of a serious health condition. The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation is currently awaiting guidance from the U.S. Department of Labor on implementation of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
