Description of Program and Relief

Price Gouging Online Complaint Tool

Pennsylvania’s price gouging law prohibits companies from increasing prices of consumer goods more than 20% over a seven-day period during a disaster emergency. This is a law that has been in effect prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and also applies to the current pandemic given Governor Tom Wolf’s COVID-19 disaster declaration. Individuals or businesses who observe actual or potential price gouging happening in their communities can submit an online complaint to the Office of the Attorney General of Pennsylvania. The Office is also accepting tips and other information about suspected violations.
