Description of Program and Relief
Hamilton County, Ohio: Suspension of Court Cases in Court of Common Pleas and Municipal Court
All jury trials in civil and criminal matters have been suspended in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas and Hamilton County Municipal Court until April 16, 2020.
For civil and criminal matters in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division that are currently set and affected by the order, counsel and any pro se parties must contact the courtroom of the assigned judge prior to the currently scheduled date to obtain a future court date and time.
All civil and criminal matters scheduled in the General Division and Municipal Court, and any associated deadlines are continued at the discretion of the assigned judge for a minimum of 30 days pending further order of the court, other than (i) criminal arraignments for incarcerated defendants at the assigned judge’s discretion, (ii) proceedings involving incarcerated defendants at the assigned judge’s discretion, (iii) civil stalking protection orders, (iv) temporary restraining orders, and (v) search warrants. Additionally, the order does not affect consideration of civil or criminal motions that can be resolved without oral argument.
Video and telephonic hearings and conferences will be utilized to the extent possible.
Additionally, in a separate order, all hearings other than Domestic Violence Civil Protection Petitions in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations have been suspended until further notice. All pending or currently scheduled non-domestic violence hearings in the Division of Domestic Relations will be rescheduled by notice of the court.
Pleadings for all cases in the Division of Domestic Relations will be accepted beginning on April 6, 2020, though there may be delays in processing.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
In the General Division and the Municipal Court, (i) criminal arraignments for incarcerated defendants at the assigned judge’s discretion, (ii) proceedings involving incarcerated defendants at the assigned judge’s discretion, (iii) civil stalking protection orders, (iv) temporary restraining orders, and (v) search warrants are not subject to the 30-day suspension. Additionally, the order does not affect consideration of civil or criminal motions that can be resolved without oral argument.
Domestic Violence Civil Protection Petitions are not subject to the Division of Domestic Relations’ order.
