Wavier of Certain Work First New Jersey/ Emergency Assistance Rules and Requirements (New Jersey’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program)

Work First New Jersey provides temporary cash assistance and many other support services to families through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program

New Jersey has waived certain Work First New Jersey/Emergency Assistance rules and requirements: the six-month penalty (ineligibility period) for participants who cause their own homeliness without good cause, the twelve-month time limit on assistance, and the requirement that participants establish a service plan within ten days of their emergency assistance authorization date.
