Description of Program and Relief
Waiver of Certain Restrictions on Prescription Refills
The New Jersey Department of Human Services has waived certain restrictions in order to allow early prescription refills and the dispensing of a ninety days’ supply of prescribed maintenance medications to any Medicaid/NJ Family Care Enrollee or Division of Aging Services prescription drug assistance program beneficiary.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
Must be a Medicaid/NJ Family Care Enrollee or Division of Aging Services prescription drug assistance program beneficiary.
Pharmacists will only dispense medication in this manner if deemed appropriate in an exercise of their professional judgment.
This waiver does not apply to dangerous controlled substances, with the exception of any FDA approved treatment for mental health or substance abuse disorder.
