Description of Program and Relief
Healthcare Coverage Services
The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) administers healthcare services for low-income Montanans through programs such as Montana Medicaid and Healthy Montana Kids (HMK) Plus, and the Big Sky Rx Program. DPHHS reimburses private and public providers for a wide range of preventive, primary, and acute care services. Major service providers include: physicians, public health departments, clinics, hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, durable medical equipment, and mental health providers. Although no specific guidance has issued with respect to COVID-19, affected families may qualify if they meet eligibility requirements.
COVID-19 testing and treatment is covered for Montanans who are enrolled, and the State of Montana has expanded the availability of telemedicine and waived certain in-person requirements for treatment.
