Description of Program and Relief
Star-C Residential Eviction Relief
Star-C, a nonprofit organization, has created an Eviction Relief Fund with a grant from the CARES Act to help Gwinnett County residents struggling to pay their rent due to COVID-19 related issues. Through this grant, Star-C is offering qualifying Gwinnett residents rental assistance of up to 70% of their outstanding rent delinquency resulting from COVID-19 related issues for up to two months at participating apartment communities.
The maximum possible relief is $750 per month up to a total of $1,500.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
To apply, tenants should submit an application to their landlord for review and certification.
Star-C will not accept applications directly from tenants.
Tenant Requirements:

If your apartment building is not a current participating property, talk with your landlord first to see if your building can qualify to participate in the program.

Proof of ability to pay half of outstanding balance and an ongoing ability to pay plan.

Landlord Requirements

To become eligible, the Landlord must apply and be approved to participate in the program.

A landlord registers and is approved to participate in the program. The property must provide rents that are affordable for tenants earning up to 80% AMI (Average Median Income) in the county and be near an elementary school in the bottom 1/3 of schools. The landlord must sign the rent-relief application and confirm that the tenant is in good standing (except for delinquent rent), and the stated delinquency is correct. The landlord will waive late fees and will reduce the outstanding rent balance by an additional 10%.
