Description of Program and Relief

Suspension of Municipal Transportation Agency Penalties

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has suspended the application of additional or new late penalties on citations, has extended deadlines for submitting citation protests, and is not forwarding additional delinquent citations to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or Special Collections. (The DMV would typically require individuals with citations to pay the balance in order to renew their vehicle registration.) Late penalties on existing citations will not be waived.
