Description of Program and Relief
Parking Enforcement Relaxation
The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) has relaxed parking enforcement during the COVID-19 crisis in the following ways:

Relaxed enforcement of street sweeping restrictions in residential areas;

Relaxed enforcement of overnight/oversized parking districts;
-
No ticket/tow for oversized/overnight parking;
-
No parking fine increases for failure to pay;
-
Extended grace period for people dropping off or picking up;
-
Immediate extension of all deadlines for payment;
-
Relaxed enforcement against expired vehicle registrations;
-
Relaxed peak/rush hour and gridlock zone parking restrictions; and
-
Two-week grace period to renew expired permits for preferential parking districts (LADOT will provide temporary print-at-home permits if the new hangtag does not arrive before the current permit expires).

Dates Available
March 17, 2020 to September 30, 2020. On October 1, 2020, parking enforcement will begin again, with the exception of street sweeping enforcement, which will resume at a later date.
Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
Parking restrictions will continue to be enforced to ensure that emergency services and other city functions continue operation.
LADOT will continue enforcement for the following categories:
Metered parking
Time limits within preferential parking districts for vehicles without a valid or recently-expired permit
Posted time limit zones in residential and commercial areas
All posted Temporary No-Parking signs
No blocking emergency access (alleyways, fire hydrants, etc.)
Colored curb zones
Parking restrictions for City-owned lots
